Spirit Drums of the North was born from a simple passion to create handcrafted drums that inspire connection, creativity and rhythm.
What began as a personal journey has grown into a welcoming workshop and shop in Donegal, where people from all walks of life can discover the joy of handcrafted instruments and experience the unique process of creating their own drum.
We believe every drum has its own character. No two hides are ever the same, no two pieces of wood are identical, and every drum develops its own voice. That individuality is something we celebrate in every instrument we make.
Each drum is handcrafted using carefully selected hardwood hoops and natural hides. We take our time with every stage of the process, ensuring each piece is made with care, attention to detail and respect for the natural materials.
Our Drum Birthing Workshops are at the heart of what we do. These workshops are about more than making a drum they are about learning traditional techniques, enjoying the creative process and leaving with something you have crafted with your own hands.
Whether you are completely new to drumming or have years of experience, you'll be guided through every step in a relaxed, supportive environment. By the end of the day, you'll leave with a handcrafted drum, new skills and an experience to remember.
Our shop in Donegal is also a place to explore. Visitors are welcome to browse our collection of handcrafted drums, rattles, smudgers and accessories, try different drums, and take the time to find one that feels right for them.
